Who are we?

Our vision
Protopia means pursuing excellence. Zero compromises. It's about changing for the better, constantly reaching toward perfection. We want to be innovators at Protopia, part of the transformation process, plus mentors and advisors for businesses and IT teams in Poland and globally.
We're here to train specialists and show them how to swap endpoint thinking for journey thinking. Our aim is ongoing enhancement of teams, departments, or applications – not handing over locked-down code with nowhere left to evolve.

Why are we doing this?
Protopia emerged from what was missing. We've been specialists working across different teams for years. We could see there was no real expert company in the market. The existing ones had gotten diluted by hordes of junior staff and delivery obsession (or complete failure to deliver). That's precisely why we walked away from delivery – so we could focus entirely on what's truly good for our clients, and train and consult with them on our terms.
This is where the hard conversations about IT actually happen
After years working as architects, consultants, and tech leads, Łukasz, Szymon, and I noticed that the IT market lacks companies with a strong technical profile. Ones that provide very precise consulting based on direct project experience, deep technology knowledge, and trend awareness.
In contrast, most companies are either typical integrators, body leasing service providers, or just big, sluggish consulting firms.
At Protopia, we don't tolerate half-measures, and the work we do is meant to serve our clients' success. We don't stage revolutions – we guide clients in the right direction.
Podcast "Patoarchitekci" - Straight Talk About IT Architecture!
We were fed up with the hot air, tech clichés, and stretched-out buzzwords. We wanted to listen to a podcast where you don't have to stand at attention, but can actually chill out and smile. One where there are no written scripts – everything's dynamic and real.
We couldn't find one, so we created our own. Patoarchitekci is the authentic voice in the IT architecture world. No unnecessary fuss, full commitment to showing what really matters in this industry. Our approach? Straight up, no fluff. Every episode delivers solid knowledge, concrete facts, and genuine passion. If you want to know IT architecture inside out, without the marketing noise – Patoarchitekci is the podcast for you.

We're building a new world
We adapt to your business and technical reality, while staying true to best practices and proven patterns. We enlighten and win over technical teams, get them trained up, then build this new world together – setting it up so they can keep evolving it on their own down the road.
That's the whole point of our company name, really. Protopia means positive change, one step at a time – a state where today beats yesterday.
#HeadsInTheCloud and these are our values
No compromises from us. We deliver results or we don't play. You won't experience mediocrity here, rushed jobs, amateur hour, or shooting in the dark.
Here's what we guarantee: laser-focused effectiveness and a healthy dose of humor that the IT world desperately needs. Bottom line: no uptight BS, real results, mission accomplished!

Who's going to be in your corner?
Protopia's backbone is made up of the founders: Łukasz, Szymon, and Marek. We also work with a crew of architects, trainers, and advisors. We vouch for and guarantee the quality of everything they deliver.

Marek Grabarz
He advises companies in the selection of technology and in the construction of IT strategies. He currently works and acts as a Technology Advisor and Partner at Protopia. He is the leader of the Warsaw Azure Group, Microsoft Azure MVP and a certified Microsoft trainer. He is passionate about new technologies, public cloud and IT security. Privately, he is the husband and father of three wonderful daughters, with whom he spends most of his free time.

Simon Ward
In IT, it has been operating since ancient times, when Internet Explorer 6 was considered “the better” browser. When he managed to realize the dream of every computer scientist (that is, to create a game), he took up the construction of medium and large IT systems. He is passionate about distributed systems, data modeling and an evolutionary approach to architecture. For many years he has taken great pleasure in learning (not only his children) and sharing knowledge during training.

Lukasz Kałuzny
You can talk a lot about him, but he is above all an engineer, an architect, a technology leader, a consultant, a geek and a father of two little ones. He is passionate about public cloud and broadly understood modern architecture in IT. He keeps a close eye on hipster technologies that are just emerging. He has long been associated with Kubernetes and containers (he first publicly urged learning this back in 2014!). Microsoft MVP (Most Valued Professional) in the Microsoft Azure category.
